Dear Concerned Stakeholders:
As the party who is most adversely impacted by the continued impasse of yet another education resolution issue, we the parents and community members in the Black Community Collaborative are hosting a city-wide meeting to further discuss how we can be an instrumental partner in helping to resolve this educational crisis.
As you all know, families are continuing to see first-hand how poor execution of a failed reintegration plan has impacted our students, our communities, and our families. What is transpiring in front of our eyes is unacceptable. While not including the parent community in the process, the entire world is watching the back-and-forth between the CTU and CPS/Mayor, to no avail. The collective failure to address the issues publicly raised by both sides has resulted in a lack of trust by Chicago families. We believe that to resolve this issue, trust needs to be re-established. The Black Community Collaborative is offering a space to discuss these issues in a forum whereby our voice can potentially be the neutral voice not yet heard during the weeks leading up to Monday’s deadline.
Therefore, we cordially invite you to a meeting on Monday, February 8th, 2021 at 3 pm to discuss these issues in earnest with you, alongside you, and because of you. We all must agree that the children should be our collective #1 priority and it is their education that should be front and center.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Black Community Collaborative
