For Immediate Release: www.blackcommunitycollab.org

The Black Community Collaborative is saddened to learn of Dr. Janice Jackson’s resignation as Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Public Schools.

Since becoming CEO, Dr. Jackson has worked towards creating racial equity with the aim of closing opportunity and academic gaps.

We appreciate her student-focused approach, intentional community engagement and authentic ability to connect with parents. Moreover, she was an inspiration to Black girls and boys in what they can achieve as students and a symbol of what they can later become as leaders in education or any field of their choice.

We hope that the next Chicago Public Schools’ CEO will be student-focused, experienced in and determined to promote racial equity and enthusiastically collaborates with The Black Community Collaborative to continue to improve college and career outcomes for Black students in the district.

We wish Dr. Jackson well in her future endeavors and hope to continue working with her in the near future.

In Journey,

The Black Community Collaborative
